I bought tickets ASAP when I heard that Mr. The Moth podcasts. Kublai Khan TX was coming to Durham. I'm an avid listener of the This American Life and So, when I heard that Now, I concede that my expectations were high. I expected the same kind of engaging, funny, thoughtful stories that made me buy the tickets in the first place. Now, granted they were embellished and added-to but the same two stores never the less. BUT, I certainly did not expect to hear the exact stories I'd already heard on my my weekly podcasts. Sad, ain't it? When he opened his mouth and started talking about Jenny, his girlfriend, and the t-bone car accident my heart sank...I wish I could say the evening improved. My take-home message when listening to live-comedy shows? Keep you expectations low.
